The Stikine is a progressive northern District in British Columbia offering a top salary scale and an excellent benefit package including moving allowance and personal travel for teacher and dependents.  The District has a full-time temporary position available at Dease Lake School, which is located in Dease Lake, British Columbia.  The school is a K-12 school with a student population of 100 students. The school staff has worked hard to develop a common purpose, mission, values and vision in order to support decision-making and goal attainment.  The school, through its student services model, staffing ratio and district support is poised to take the next step towards becoming a quality school that responds to individual student needs.
  
A full-time temporary teaching position is available starting September 7, 2010 until June 30, 2011.  The successful candidate should possess excellent teaching, planning and assessment skills; excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to connect for trust and support, clarify problems and challenges and restore harmony and respect is mandatory.  Understanding and appreciation of First Nation’s language and culture is essential.
