Dease Lake School

Dease Lake School is located in Dease Lake, BC on the Cassiar Highway #37 approximately 490 kilometers north of the Yellowhead Highway and 240 kilometers south of the Alaska Highway. Dease Lake School is a K-12 school serving approximately 110 students from the surrounding area.

Dease Lake, surrounded by bountiful lakes and mountains, is rich with Tahltan First Nation history. The school uses the area's natural resources around achieve the School's Vision Statement, "At Dease Lake School we take responsibility for our learning. We respect our heritage and culture and look toward the future with optimism. We use problem-solving skills and make responsible decisions. We are lifelong learners committed to giving back something positive to the community." We are able to successfully achieve our Vision Statement with our newly signed Aboriginal Education Enhancement Agreement and the assistance of our community members participating within our school who present various career and survival skills that are required in our northern community.
